During this time of correction on Urantia, many things are changing as we learn more about the universe and how to participate more consciously in the unfolding of Light and Life on our world. One of the most significant changes we are undergoing is in redefining who we are as children of God and to be able to see ourselves more from our Divine Parents' perspectives, as opposed to viewing who we think we are from the understanding of our culture. We are making a big transition here, and in so doing, it necessitates that we shift our definition of ourselves into something more wholistic and unified. Currently, the idea of ego has been a big topic in spiritual growth: what it is and how do we overcome it. But is the concept of the ego really the true ideation of self? Or is it based on a psychological perspective spawned in an environment of human thought that has become accepted as the norm due to people's attachment to it in lieu of another, perhaps better, idea?
We must remember that what our sciences theorize becomes taken as fact, when in reality sometimes it is the current understanding of the time, and someone has come up with a good concept that seems to make sense. In terms of the concept of "ego," this was the idea that a psycho-scientist developed to understand human nature, and it has become a definition well embedded into our lexicon. We accept this definition of self, and in order to understand its meaning, more theories are developed to try to flesh out its significance to us. Theories upon theories are developed, adding to the complexity of our thinking process becoming difficult and confusing trying to sort this out in terms of what it means to us in our spiritual growth.
Just because this word is used to understand self does not make it true, and we must develop another conceptual frame of reference to understand who we are in the fullness of our humanity. Thus, I would like to offer another definition of self...one that is less complex and easier to integrate into one's self-perception and can add to into the value of how you perceive yourself as a child of God.
To start, I wish to define the term "self" as the gift of personality given to us as evolving humans and the evolutionary nature that we begin with as children. The term "SELF" is the concept combining the Adjuster's (our Indwelling Spirit of God) ministrations in our minds to help us grow into our divine life plan as we evolve our soul. Thus the two, self and SELF could be perceived as reflecting one another: The self desiring to grow into the depiction of the SELF through experience, and the SELF holding the standard to reflect into the self to spur on the evolutionary ascent. The self is good, beautiful and true because it was created by God, and is a reflection of one aspect of the overall universal divine plan. The SELF is the higher depiction and one that acts to inspire and entice the self into co-creation of the soul. Both are necessary to become a unified whole: human and divinity conjoined.
Now using these two definitions, we must then look at how our minds are programmed by Spirit to become consciousness and self-willed. We know that we only use a portion of our mindal potential: our minds have a bandwidth that is greater than our perception. Yet we can grow in becoming aware of those portions of mind that we know as sub and super consciousness through our inner strivings. Here is where our perception opens if we are willing to go within and look at those influences which have wounded us or inspire us. It is not something that happens all at once, but we can expand our awareness through patience and trust in our Adjusters to open the door of our evolutionary self to see what we are made of. There is a lot of sadness contained with our mind-body system and it takes a courageous open heart and mind with the Adjuster's help to be willing to see the stuff of which we are made. Yet it is entirely possible to become aware of the depth of our self, thus enabling our SELF to guide us through the long evolutionary history of who we are as children of God.
Our minds are influenced by the adjutant mind spirits, circuits that plug into an energy system hard wired into our bodies. This is a continuum that sends certain bio-electrochemical signals through the various systems of our bodies, coding tons of information into various memory receptors both in and outside of our beings. Added onto that are the memories of our ancestors coded into our genes and passed down through inheritance that affect our behavior in ways we are not consciously aware, sometimes feeding us with information of being unworthy, unloved, shamed, etc. These are the influences that are rooted in the rebellion (the planetary event that took us away from following the divine plan of evolution) and have established long threaded codes of information on our mind-body system that are now being outworked during this time of correction. These influences could be considered superimposed over the purity of our personalities and impede the self from seeing the SELF in its truest depiction, yet the SELF yearns for the union with self and for the self to be perceived as good, beautiful and true.
Even though we carry the excess emotional baggage of years of living on a rebellion sphere, we are worthy and desirable children of God. We have a right to exist, and we have a birthright to love ourselves the way our Divine Parents love us. It is actually imprinting upon them as divine father and mother that the long encoded memories of the past can be healed, and now we are also being upstepped as Adam and Eve* are back in morontia* form to continue to help us ascend out of the mire of self-negation that so many people live in. These are deep old languages that are being outworked during this phase of planetary correction, and is what is addressed during the Generational Healing transformational process. The goal of GH is to help clear both the internal and external energy fields of these influences so the Adjuster has more room to function within one's mind, helping to simplify and clarify human thought processes so we can become clearer vessels of love to our brothers and sisters, under the direction of a person's Adjuster, Michael, Nebadonia, Adam and Eve and other celestial helpers.
Perhaps looking at SELF and self in this simplified posture can help our Adjusters weave together those ideas of loving oneself and create that healthy self respect and confidence that is highly magnetic. This can also serve to simplify our thinking and become more heart centered and trusting as we move through these planetary changes, letting go of what no longer serves us in favor of what the Spirit of Truth rings in our hearts, and what our Adjusters illuminate within our minds.
